Busy, busy week ahead 😅| Weekly Market Minute

Here we are - already halfway through the month of December. Stick around for a quick mid-month review and for what is shaping up to be a busy week ahead.

Stocks are off to another good start. U.S., International Developed, and Emerging Markets broad-based indices are all positive for the month with emerging markets leading the way. Within U.S. stocks, small caps are outperforming large caps and the value style is outperforming growth as the reopening trade or the spring 2021 and beyond trade continues to work.

For the week ahead, there’s actually quite a bit going on. Here’s a quick list on what to follow. First, news concerning vaccine and vaccine distribution. Second, will this finally be the week that congress agrees on a stimulus bill? Next, we have a Federal Reserve meeting on Wednesday – what does the Fed do and what do they say about the future. Lastly, we get Jobless Claims on Thursday. The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits has gone the wrong way lately with week-over-week increases. Let us see if we can break this streak.
