Stocks hit record highs, but…| Weekly Market Minute

Stocks hit record highs again last week, but COVID-19 is still a problem.
Stocks continued their incredible run higher last week, but as we saw over the weekend and overnight with Dow futures, COVID-19 is still here. In addition to the increased case counts here in the states, a new infectious version of COVID-19 was discovered in the UK, leading to a strict lockdown and several nations have responded with UK travel bans. The question concerning the stock market is does this result in a one-day sell-off or does it lead to a more prolonged market sell-off that many have been expecting?
For the week ahead, we have some good news in that Santa Clause is protected against COVID-19. So, as Santa makes his way down our chimneys this week, all of us here at Asset Strategy wish you all a happy, safe, and merry Christmas.
